PROGRESSION

We appreciate that trips beyond the classroom can sometimes feel a bit daunting. Check out our handy ratings on the top of each experience summary, which will help you choose the perfect trip for your group or plan for progression across the school.

Beginner – These trips are self-contained, with minimal walking: perfect for younger students or those less confident.

Intermediate – These trips require more walking, usually in public areas. It may include uneven ground, such as a visit to the countryside.

Advanced – These trips require walking for extended periods in busy public areas. They could even include an overnight stay.

OUR TOP TIPS FOR MAKING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TRIPS!

  1. Carefully sequence them into your curriculum planning

  2. Consider prior knowledge and be there to help activate it during the trip

  3. Share logistical information with the children beforehand (check out our handy pre-visit slides!) to help them focus on the important things on the experience

  4. Activities should be relevant and interactive – let us know if there are any elements of your school curriculum that you want us to focus on during the experience

  5. Support the children with appropriate adults to encourage deeper thinking and peer interaction
