The digital divide is having a serious impact on children accessing online learning during the pandemic. Society's most vulnerable children are falling even further behind because they don't have a device at home to access online lessons. Please help Hull & East Yorkshire Children's University make sure that every primary school child in Hull and the East Riding has a laptop or tablet. We have contacted all the schools we work with in areas of deprivation and they need a total of 865.
We also want to provide dongles so that the children have the wifi connectivity they need to access the lessons. All money raised will go directly to buying devices and dongles for children.
How your funding will be used:
£179 buys a Chrome book for a child
£44.99 buys a data dongle with 15GB which can be topped up
If you have a used laptop or tablet that is less then five years old, in working order and has the charger these can be donated to the charity. We will have the hard drive wiped and the device factory reset to be given to schools to distribute to families. Drop offs of devices can be made to 65 Salmon Grove, Hull, HU67SZ on Wednesday mornings 8.30am to 12. Please ensure you are wearing a mask when you drop off your device. If you'd like us to collect your device please email us via our website www.hullchildrensuniversity.com and we will arrange a collection. Or you can also post your devices to Hull & East Yorkshire Children's University, 65 Salmon Grove, Hull, HU67SZ
