Mark Stockdale has been with HEY Children’s University since the very beginning when he started volunteering 25 years ago.
In that time Mark has led over 1,000 experiences and was instrumental during a time of significant growth for the charity in ensuring that demand for support from primary schools across Hull & East Yorkshire could be met.
Mark celebrated his 25th year in the only way he could – by leading on a ‘Kip on a Ship’ experience for the children from Buckingham Primary Academy and the school staff surprised him with a certificate and trophy celebrating his dedication and hard work over the years.
Mark has worked with countless schools and Simon Bush from The Greenway Academy said: “Mark is an amazingly organised and kind person, he has been supporting our school on the London Experience’s for some time and does a truly wonderful job. He understands the needs of our pupils and has an excellent rapport with them.
Whenever we go to London with HEY Children’s University we ask if Mark is available to lead because of his positive attitude and enthusiasm for the trips. He truly cares that everybody on the trip has a great time and all of the children come away with wonderful memories. He is an amazing individual”.
Natasha Barley, CEO said: "Mark is the most amazing volunteer that any charity could wish to have. He uses all of his annual leave to lead experience's for the charity and he has changed the lives of thousands of children. He is an absolute inspiration and we couldn’t achieve what we do without his dedication".
