Award-winning internal communications and employee experience agency H&H is supporting HEY Children’s University as gold partner for the second year running.
HEY Children’s University is a charity that works with children living in the most disadvantaged areas of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. It aims to raise children’s aspirations and increase their self-belief, by giving them unique experiences and opportunities to see the wider world.
As part of its support, H&H will host an experience entitled ‘A Day of Wow’ at the agency’s Hesslewood base, to give children a taste of life in the creative industry and inspire them to discover their own talents.
Rose James, Director of Development at HEY Children’s University, explained why experiences of this kind are so important: ‘We work with primary school children because we know that children make decisions about their hopes, dreams and aspirations at a very early age.
‘Some children have never experienced what a place of work even looks like and some don’t have an adult close to them who works, so we want to give them the chance to spend a “day in the life” at different industries. We are so grateful to H&H for supporting us for another year and for giving the children this opportunity.’
H&H will also once again sponsor a London Experience for 30 children and some of the team will see the impact of their support first-hand when they join the children for their day in the capital. For many of the children it will be their first time travelling by train and visiting another city.
H&H Creative Director Hannah Thoresby said: ‘We had such a wonderful experience partnering with HEY Children’s University last year, that we jumped at the chance to continue our support this year. Our team get the opportunity to volunteer at events and take part in fundraising activities, and we’ve received incredibly positive feedback. Colleagues tell us how valuable and enjoyable they find this experience – especially in the knowledge that they’re helping to shape these children’s futures for the better.
‘We’re particularly excited about donning our elf hats again for Christmas, and then hosting a fun-filled day for the children to learn about jobs in the creative and communications world in the New Year.’
As a Gold partner, H&H will take part in Breakfast with Santa, one of the charity’s Christmas schemes, which brings the magic of Christmas to children who otherwise may not experience it this year. The H&H elves will join Santa to deliver presents to a class of unsuspecting children and also provide them with a healthy breakfast. It is sure to be a Christmas to remember for all involved!
