In Hull and East Yorkshire, many children live in homes without gardens and go to schools with limited outdoor space. The chance for these children to be outside and learn about the environment can be very limited.
Our exciting new Eco Experience Days aim to change that. These experiences give children the chance to become Eco Heroes as they explore gardens, woodlands, and greenhouses. Through hands-on activities, they will learn about sustainability and their impact on the planet, discovering how they can make meaningful changes at school and home to lead more sustainable lives. The children will also be introduced to environmental careers, inspiring them to think about their future aspirations.
On October 30th 2024, we welcomed partners and supporters to our new EcoHub at Thwaite Gardens in Cottingham. Generously provided by the University of Hull, this beautiful facility is set to benefit not only the children but also businesses looking to meet their own environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. Our EcoHub activities align with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and we will be shining a light on our supporting businesses’ commitment to sustainability through some of the tasks we deliver.
