Our Year 7, 8 and 9 students on the Step Up Move On programme were treated to a selection of workshops on their recent visits to the University of Hull. The Year 7s became a ‘Student for a Day’ visiting the accommodation, learning all about student finance and creating a ‘Meal on a Budget’ with Cook Stars!
The Year 8s explored a variety of different career choices and had a super taster at being architects and quantity surveyors by designing their own school with Hobson and Porter! Plus, they found out about how to join the Magic Circle with Rich Reynolds.
The Year 9s created their own products with the University of Hull Business School who got us all to ‘Rethink your Plastic’ and consider the environment.
Our Year 7s have also had the opportunity to visit Bishop Burton College this term and learn all about the different courses they offer. Finally, a trip to Goxhill Meadows is always a treat when we get to get some quality wellbeing time with the wonderful animals.
The young people learn so much on these visits and it helps them to build confidence and consider all the options open to them when they leave school! Thank you to the University of Hull for continuing to support this programme.
