World Cup Challenge

HEY Children’s University are on a mission to reach Qatar in time for the World Cup Final – but we need your help!

We’re asking staff and pupils to walk, cycle or run to rack up the miles for our virtual challenge! By working together, we can reach 4,284 miles on this virtual challenge, all whilst making a difference right here in our region for the children who need us the most and they need us now more than ever.

Step 1: Pick a date or timeframe between 1st November – 18th December 2022 for your class to take on their challenge. Make it work for you and your timetable!

Step 2: Choose a distance that you’d like pupils to attempt to reach i.e., twice around the playing field – but make sure you know how far that is.

Step 3: Track the distance each pupil does and add it up. Let’s see which school can get the furthest!

It’s free to register and each school will receive bunting to help decorate your classroom.

All we ask is that you pledge to fundraise as much as possible as a team to help support local children who are at a disadvantage.

To register and receive your Fundraising Pack please contact Rebecca, our Community and Events Fundraiser at r.slow@hull.ac.uk and she’ll be in touch to help you along the way!

HEY Children’s University Joke Box Final

Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University are joining forces with The Hull Comedy Festival this year, to host a Joke Box competition as part of the festivals 15th Anniversary events and charity partnership.

The Joke Box Competition is to find the funniest joke teller from the children and schools that the charity work with. HEY Children’s University strive to raise the self-esteem and aspirations of young people by developing and providing unique learning experiences that they otherwise may not have. The partnership will help the young people who take part to build their confidence, develop communication and presentation skills and hopefully, providing some big belly laughs for the city.

Join us at KINGS Sunday 20th November to see who will be crowned as our region’s funniest joke teller in front of a specially selected comedy panel.

Tickets are on sale now Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University Joke Box Final | JokePit – The Comedy Box Office
