Get Caked! for HEY CU

Are you ready to GET CAKED? Join the muddiest challenge in East Yorkshire taking place on the 25th April and raise money for HEY CU.

Climb, crawl & slide through 5 miles of muddy fun in the beautiful grounds of Sledmere House. NO RUNNING NECESSARY AND MOST OBSTACLES HAVE THE OPTION TO PASS IF YOU WOULD PREFER NOT TO TRY THEM.  It’s just £25 to register (£20 if you sign up in January) and you just need to commit to raising a min of £40 in sponsorship. The event is organised by Dove House Hospice so a percentage of your registration fee will go to them, 100% of your sponsorship money will go to HEY CU.

This is a challenge that even total novices can take on. We know this because the HEY CU team will be getting muddy with you! Natasha, Rose, Chris, Liz, Amy, Maria, Carol and Vicky will all be completing the course and we would love for you to join us!

It will be such a fun experience, so get a few friends together and take on the challenge to make a difference to local children.  It would make a fab corporate team building activity too!

All that you need to do is sign up via and select Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University as your charity. You can select what time you would like to start (we are doing it at 12pm if you would like to be in the same group as us) and all of the information will be sent to you.

We will see you there!

Be Like Benji!

You may recall that last year the HEY Children’s University (HEY CU) team were paid a surprise visit from a very kind little boy named Benji, aged 5.

HEY CU provides experiences to disadvantaged children in Hull and the East Riding in the hope of raising their aspirations, resilience and self confidence.

Benji had heard about the work that HEY CU does and decided that every time he received any pocket money he would keep half of it and put the other half in a savings jar for HEY CU.

He came into the office with the proudest smile on his face and presented us with the money that he had saved up for the charity.

Well, Benji has done it again! This week he came into the office and presented us with £10 of his own money that he had saved for the charity.

As a thank you to Benji we asked the Hogwarts Sorting Hat if it would sort Benji into his Hogwarts House (something which he was very excited about!) The Hat decided that Benji belongs in Hufflepuff – a house that is loyal, kind, giving and fair. We think Benji is a perfect fit!

We hope that Benji’s wonderful act of kindness will inspire others to do the same, so we have created the #BelikeBenji campaign for those of you who would like to match Benji’s donation. At the end of the campaign we will tell Benji how much his kindness has helped to raise.

Please #BelikeBenji and help less fortunate children in our area.
